Self Care.

Self Care.

It's mid-year, end of financial year and school holidays have begun for some. There is a lot going on! If you are going away - fab! But if not, don't forget to look after yourself and take some time to relax.

There has been a lot in my news feed about 'self care'. One of my favourite messages is from 'Catherine House' who always do a 'Self Care Sunday' message: "Fall in love with taking care of yourself. Fall in love with the path of deep healing. Fall in love with becoming the best version of yourself but with patience, with compassion and respect to your own journey." - S. McNutt

I have been focusing on 'self care' for the last two weeks. Taking small steps to reconnect. I feel more patient, clear headed and focused. It really is amazing what can be achieved by taking a small amount of time out for yourself. I highly recommend it. More than anything, if guilt sets in, as it often does, just remember you are worthy. Be kind to yourself.

So what does that look like for you? What is the journey you are on that you could be more kind to yourself, to take a moment to say "You are doing a great job", to have a moment to sit and literally 'do nothing'. No phone, no ipad, no media, no distractions. What does this time look like for you? It's a great question, how do we reconnect with ourselves when we haven't noticed it has been lost or we haven't invested as much as we should?

Here are some ideas... spend 10 minutes every day to meditate or just enjoy some space to yourself, have a bath (go all out with candles, a good book and chocolate - why hold back? This is your time!), rug up and go for a walk, kick the leaves, do something that connects you to you. Listen to yourself and see what happens and what effects these small moments, designed 'just for you', have. Do they help to take you into the next day with a positive attitude and renewed energy? Do you end up feeling different? I would love to know!
