Bringing outside in.

Bringing outside in.

One of the things I love about Spring is the opportunity to get back into the garden! It's a great time to prune your fruit trees, plant your vegetables and herbs. If you don't have the outdoor space, here are a couple of alternative ideas just for you.

Bring your herb garden inside.

There are some wonderful planter boxes that allow you to grow your herbs inside. An easy way to get started is to buy a 'kitchen herb garden kit' that will give you everything you need including pots, seeds, labels and instructions to get you started. Once your garden is established, you can easily snip your herbs to add easy colour and flavour to all your cooking, whether it be eggs on toast or a delicious and fresh salad!

Create your own little eco system.

Terrariums are an easy way to create your own little eco system inside. While they are easy to set up, make sure you get the right balance of light and keep your spray bottle on hand to keep it moist. To make a terrarium you just need your glass vessel, small stones or pebbles, activated charcoal, potting soil and your plants. So a quick trip to your local hardware store or gardening store will do the trick to get set-up. To create your terrarium, cover the bottom of your terrarium with 1 1/2 inch-think layer of stones, then a very thin layer of activated charcoal, add a layer of potting soil and then add your plants. Don't forget to spray regulary with water and enjoy watching your own little indoor garden grow.

Head to the Hills

If you do enjoy beautiful gardens and being amogst nature, don't forget to head to the Adelaide Hills. Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens is always stunning this time of year. Even just meandering through the Adelaide Hills and seeing the blossom on the trees is beautiful. Make the most of it and don't forget to stop somewhere delicious for lunch!

Enjoy your week ahead. If there is anything we can do to make your dinner time easier, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,
