That's why we're so proud to feature Fleurieu Milk Company as our August Hero Ingredient.
A South Australian story worth knowing
The Fleurieu Milk story began in Myponga when local dairy farmers were facing an increasingly difficult future.
As rising costs and falling farm-gate milk prices put pressure on family farms, three local farming families the Clarkes, Royans and Hutchinsons decided to do something about it.
Instead of walking away from dairy farming, they backed themselves.
They came together with the idea of processing and selling their own milk, creating a premium local product while helping build a more sustainable future for South Australian dairy farming.
Fleurieu Milk Company sold its first bottles in 2006.
Twenty years later, it remains proudly South Australian and has grown to source fresh milk from nine dairies across the Fleurieu Peninsula.
We love that story.
Because behind every bottle is something much bigger: families, farms, jobs, communities and a belief that local food production is worth protecting.

Because if we're going to encourage people to support local, we want to do it ourselves too.
