For September, we're celebrating Laucke Flour - another South Australian name with an incredible story behind it.
More than 125 years of milling
The Laucke story stretches all the way back to 1899, when German miller Friedrich Laucke took control of a flour mill at Greenock in South Australia's Barossa Valley.
More than 125 years later, Laucke Flour Mills remains family owned, with successive generations continuing the family's milling tradition.
Today, Laucke produces a broad range of speciality flours and baking products, but the philosophy behind the business remains wonderfully simple: great baking starts with great grain and great flour.
We couldn't agree more.
The flour behind our garlic bread
We don't bake our bread rolls ourselves but we care very much about the ingredients that go into the food we serve.
The bread we use for our Garlic Bread is made using Laucke Flour.
Then we take over.
We add real butter, garlic and herbs to create the golden, buttery garlic bread you'll find in The Family Cook kitchen.
It's simple food and that's precisely why the ingredients matter.
